Counselling

As a trauma informed integrative counsellor I utilise knowledge of multiple modalities such as Person centred, Gestalt, Transactional analysis CBT and narrative approaches. At the centre of this process I use a person centred model first and foremost, believing that you are the expert in your own life.

Within counselling I offer a space where you can be heard without being judged, offering a compassionate and relational approach, working with you to help you find your own answers

CBT

As a CBT therapist I utilise a structured approach using disorder specific protocols for the specific problem that has bought you to seek therapy,

connecting your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to understand what it is that is keeping the cycle of low mood or anxiety going.

Within CBT I offer a structured approach which includes, goal setting

formulation of the problem, treatment planning and treatment delivery which is all done collaboratively with yourself at the centre of the process.

Clinical Supervision

As a clinical supervisor who has experience of supervising counsellors and CBT therapists I am able to offer supervision specifically for counsellors or CBT therapists alike

Within supervision I ensure that we cover more than just the practical aspects such as the ethical, legal professional standards related to your practice  practice. We also look at the formative, focusing on increasing  skills and knowledge as well as developing greater self-reflection and the restorative, ensuring your own wellbeing. All of these aspects support you to be the best therapist you can be for you and for your clients.

When supervising counsellors I utilise Hawkins and Shohets seven eyed model of supervision which takes a relational and systemic approach, acknowledging the relationship between client, counsellor and supervisor as well a the wider context which may be impacting the client work

When supervising CBT therapists I utilised both Hawkins and Shohets seven eyed model which captures the relational and systemic aspects and Page and Woskets cyclical model which closely mirrors the structured nature of CBT.
